In which countries do we operate and how is the Banca del Sempione Group structured?
We were founded in Lugano in 1960 and, over the years, have expanded our international presence by opening new branches in Milan, Luxembourg, Nassau, and Dubai.
Today, the Banca del Sempione Group is composed of an ecosystem of specialized companies, each offering its own distinctive services, strengthened by synergies within the group itself:
Sempione SIM: A lean Italian entity capable of crafting tailor-made investment strategies for each investor, focused on wealth management, personalized advisory, and the trading of financial instruments.
Base Investments SICAV: The group’s product factory based in Luxembourg, offering a range of award-winning funds with strategies focused both on capital preservation and value generation.
Banca del Sempione (Overseas): A fully owned subsidiary in Nassau, providing a reliable alternative for wealth management in the Bahamas and the broader Latin American region. It offers international investment services and expertise, also with a view to generational wealth transfer.
Banca del Sempione (Middle East): A newly established affiliate in Dubai (2024), allowing us to extend our expertise in wealth management and financial planning to the Middle Eastern market.

What does ESG mean and why is it so talked about?
ESG, which stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance, is a fundamental framework used to evaluate the sustainability and responsible management of companies and investments. The three dimensions, environmental, social, and governance, allow an analysis of how an organization manages risks and opportunities that can directly or indirectly affect its reputation, resilience, and long-term performance. In the financial sector, attention to sustainability is continuously growing. The so-called “sustainable finance” integrates ESG criteria into business decisions, promoting a more conscious and responsible approach. According to the recent directives from the Swiss Bankers Association (SBA), it is important to distinguish between:
